A nice cold one....

I the early 80s my Mum and Dad went to Windsor Safari Park,a place we'd all been to quite a few times.It was a baking hot day and with picnic packed they set off with me Dad looking forward to his ploughman's and an ice cold pint of Tenant's Super he'd taken with him.
As soon as they arrived they found a picnic table as me Dad by this time was desperate for a "cold one".While me Mum unpacked their picnic he got his glass out and poured his Lager carefully and stared at the dew forming on the side of the glass like that scene in "Ice Cold in Alex".
Not being able to wait a moment longer he reached out for his drink at the same time as me Mum swung around with his Ploughman's and knocked his drink straight off the table!
After apparently calling her a clumsy person! or something to that effect,the day became rather soured.......

When I was at junior School,crossing the road,where we lived at least,was fairly simple and fairly safe as you could here a Car or Bus or Lorry coming along the road long before it ever got to you. That's how it has become now to some extent with the road where we are suddenly going from having thousands of vehicles pass by daily to falling eerily quiet such that,even though Cars are more silent than they used to be,you can now hear them approaching way before you see them. Going Wild in the Garden....

Coronavirus...... Apparently some 'experts' initially predicted a million deaths in the UK but that figure has now been lowered with an expert Professor  updating that to some 20,000 and more recently to 5,700.Also he says that two thirds of those who die in the next few months,supposedly of Coronavirus,would have died anyway of something else. Further,it appears that if someone dies under the care of Medical professionals and if said person has Coronavirus at time of Death,then that is being listed as  the cause of death when it may or may not be the case. So time will tell eventually whether the restrictions imposed on people's lives and the economic impact that will go on far longer have been absolutely necessary or whether we've all been living through a real life episode of Spooks......
