Taking the Biscuit......


I've always been a Ginger nut
'though a Bourbon was much safer
but I met a lovely girl one day
and-went for her Pink Wafer
After a nice Rich Tea,we dated
and I found her quite suggestive
and she loved a drop of Malted Milk
if I showed her my Digestive
We married shortly after
but came home to find her sobbin'
so I gave her one of my Jaffa Cakes
and we shared some good Hob 'nobbin'
Things are running smoothly now
and we've taken in a lodger
and-with her being-partial to Custard Cream
we've had a little Jammie Dodger
But I've had to throw the lodger out
he was odd and used to linger
and I caught him with the wife last night
and he had a Chocolate Finger!......

When I was at junior School,crossing the road,where we lived at least,was fairly simple and fairly safe as you could here a Car or Bus or Lorry coming along the road long before it ever got to you. That's how it has become now to some extent with the road where we are suddenly going from having thousands of vehicles pass by daily to falling eerily quiet such that,even though Cars are more silent than they used to be,you can now hear them approaching way before you see them. In this new found silence we can hear Bird-Song that used to be drowned out by the traffic noise,hear the Frogs in the Pond croak and splash,hear children playing in a garden several Houses away,hear a Lawn-Mower somewhere and Alright Now by Free playing on someone's Radio who knows where. Going Wild in the Garden....

Coronavirus...... Apparently some 'experts' initially predicted a million deaths in the UK but that figure has now been lowered with an expert Professor  updating that to some 20,000 and more recently to 5,700.Also he says that two thirds of those who die in the next few months,supposedly of Coronavirus,would have died anyway of something else. Further,it appears that if someone dies under the care of Medical professionals and if said person has Coronavirus at time of Death,then that is being listed as  the cause of death when it may or may not be the case. So time will tell eventually whether the restrictions imposed on people's lives and the economic impact that will go on far longer have been absolutely necessary or whether we've all been living through a real life episode of Spooks......
