I can't work it out!.......


1:-Try to see it My way
Do I have to keep on Teaching 'til I can't go on
Try your hand at MY day
Run the risk of knowing,that my hair will soon be gone

2:-Think of what I'm saying
I-get the answers wrong and the kids all get them right
Now they're outside playing
And I'm laid down a mo,'cause I look a proper sight

3:-Life is very short and there's no end.......
To-getting School-work done on time
I have always thought,they'll drive me round.......the bend
So I will ask you once again.......

4:-Try to see it my way
only-time -will-tell,if I am wrong or I am right

There's a chance,without no booze,I'll run-away tonight

There's more to life than money........

When the Kids were young and at School it coincided with the late 80s early 90s recession and just as now lots of us were out of work,especially those like me who were self-employed.Obviously we didn't have a Virus to contend with or the kids at home all the time. But we did have to try and survive on the 'peanuts' the law said we needed to live on and that meant cutting costs and consuming less. School and viruses....... If we'd have had this Coronavirus outbreak when we were at School,I suspect we'd have all been wiped out within a week! If cleanliness and hand-washing is the key to survival then we'd have all been doomed and social distancing was unheard of. We'd often share a bottle of Tizer and a bag of crisps and if you missed out on a crisp you'd definitely get some when it was your turn for a swig out of the bottle! Not many people had running hot water and we'd have a bath once a week and if you were last in the bath you'd come out grubbier than when you went in and washing in between wasn't high on our list of priorities,nor was changing our clothes. We used to hope that if the Nurse was doing a feet inspection it'd be on a Monday as we'd be slightly cleaner than if it happened on a Friday. Careful what you wish for..... In 1980 I was half way through what turned out to be some three years working on a project at the MVE Chobham...to which I 'd ride every day on a small motorbike leaving at 7 am and getting home around 7 pm plus a half day Saturday mornings.Sundays were the day when a long overdue sleep was anticipated but never materialised. I'd rode the bike there and back,whatever the weather and clocked up some fourty miles a day. As spring approached this particular year I'd flippantly said to the Wife  "wouldn't it be great if we could have the whole summer off and just sit in the garden!?".....she laughed in reply.
